Wake up and drink the coffee!

The days of just smelling the coffee is no longer working, especially when this world requires us to get up off our butts and do something! Follow the smell to the kitchen and drink the coffee. This world is waxing colder, and no longer has any regard for life. The government has been shutdown for more than 30 days. This is the longest shut down in U.S. history. But why is this our history? We as a people only get mad when we are directly affected by something. It is the natural instinct as humans that our brains go into survival mode whenever we have to change out of our natural habits. However, would you say that your brain goes into survival mode when it is time to protect those around you versus just yourself? There is no reason why we should still be in the bed smelling coffee when our voices still need to be heard. There is no reason why the government is shut-down for a wall budget that should not exist, simply because your “President” doesn’t know how to control his feeling towards a race. I am pretty sure he has had these same people working for him in the many “business ventures” he has had throughout the years. It is unconstitutional, foul and wrong for this to be happening. There are 450,000 members of the government that took the same oath as the president and can’t feed their families because they are sticking to their oath to protect and do what is best for their country. Why isn’t the President doing the same? I ‘ll tell you, it’s because he has nothing to lose.

Are you up? Did you have the nice smelling coffee with the French vanilla or pumpkin spice creamer? Great! Because I have some really awesome action items to share that you can use to help those affected. According to Today.com, there are 5 ways that you can help families during this time. And I encourage you to start with this awesome list. Some of them you can do in the bed if your still in it!

1. Donate food to your local food pantry.

2. Donate to repair National Parks.

3. Call the Senators and Representatives.

4. Support a business helping furloughed workers.

5. Get creative.

Your very own people need you. Many of us have parents, aunts and uncles that support this country during this unfortunate time and are forced to work without being able to feed their family. Look at the break down at TheBalance.com, which talks of workers, contractors and the economic deficit this shut down has caused and is leading to. It isn’t your duty to do anything, but it is your duty to protect and stand-up for your family.
